Who are we and what do we do?
The Parent Teacher Association is a group of people made up of parents and school staff who arrange events to raise additional school funds for the school.
We meet every couple of months in an informal atmosphere (usually The Pickled Pheasant) to discuss various methods of fundraising. We try to think of unique, fun and interesting things to do that will raise money for the school.
We organise both the Summer and Christmas Fayres, run two school discos and try to squeeze a couple of other events in too (if we can) every year.
Why do we do it?
The PTA help to raise funds for the school. We have recently raised funds for a historical timetable and an outdoor school library unit. Previously we have helped to fund the new lockers in school, £2000 of new school books, new technologies, musical instruments, supported school visits, pantomime experiences, new toilet facilities and many other things that would not be covered by the schools budget.
How can you help?
We are always looking for new members to bring fresh, fun ideas and enthusiasm to the group. Even if you are unable to attend meetings it is always great to have your support at any of our events. We always need help to run stalls at the summer and Christmas fayres and to help out at the school Discos.
We are always grateful for any donations for the fayres and discos too, cakes, biscuits, jars of sweets or toys, raffle and tombola prizes are most welcome.
