Welcome to Cherry Class! Our classroom is a place where EYFS and KS1 children can explore, play, and learn at their own pace. We encourage curiosity, creativity, and asking questions, helping every child grow in confidence and enjoy their learning journey
In Cherry Class, we believe that play is an essential part of your child’s development. Much of the learning in our class is introduced through a mix of carefully planned play experiences and some adult-led activities. Children also have opportunities to follow their own interests, choosing activities that inspire them and spark their curiosity.
We love it when children go home and tell us they’ve “been playing all day!” To us, this shows that learning can be fun, engaging, and meaningful.
A key focus in Cherry Class is helping children build confidence and independence. We support them in developing the essential skills they need to progress successfully through the rest of their school journey.
Our team provides a nurturing, happy, and secure environment, where every child is valued, supported, and celebrated.

Meet our teachers
Hello - I’m Mrs Broughton and I feel privileged to be part of your child’s early school journey. I have taught across all key phases apart from EYFS, with much of my experience in Key Stage 1, and I’m passionate about inspiring curiosity, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. I believe, as W.B. Yeats once said, that “education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.”
This year is especially exciting for me as my eldest son is also starting Reception I want to provide the very best for Cherry Class, just as I would want for him. Together, we’ll make learning joyful, memorable, and full of adventure.
Outside of school, I’m married and a busy mum to two energetic boys. As a family, we love spending time at our local cricket club, enjoying days out at the beach, and going on adventures with our dog, Spud.
What are we learning?
